Coldplay lança “Higher Power”, seu novo single

A nova era do Coldplay chegou: a música “Higher Power” já está disponível no YouTube e nas principais plataformas de streaming, após um lançamento direto da Estação Espacial Internacional.

A expectativa para a canção já vinha desde o final do mês de abril, quando fãs começaram a decodificar mensagens enigmáticas espalhadas pela banda através da internet e em pôsteres espalhados pelo mundo. No anúncio oficial, a banda destacou o trabalho dos fãs. “Os fãs da banda conseguiram decifrar os símbolos semelhantes a letras para descobrir o título da música e a data de lançamento”, escreveu.

“Higher Power” surgiu no ano passado, conforme a banda divulgou em suas redes sociais. “É uma música que chegou em um pequeno teclado e uma pia de banheiro no início de 2020”, escreveram Chris, Guy, Jonny e Will. A produção é de Max Martin, que trabalhou com a banda em singles como “Orphans”, lançado em Everyday Life.

No entanto, não há previsão para novos lançamentos em breve. Segundo Mark Mitchell, co-presidente da Parlophone Records, “Higher Power” difere dos trabalhos anteriores do Coldplay. “Porque antes, muitas vezes, havia um ou talvez dois singles e, em seguida, um álbum muito rapidamente”, explicou. O executivo também adiantou que a banda se ocupará de lançar singles pontuais, deixando um novo álbum – provavelmente intitulado Music of the Spheres – apenas para o segundo semestre.
